Elvis Costello, A Monster Went And Ate My Red 2
Sesame Street is for kids, except when it isn't, or isn't only. I don't know how I missed this, but 14 years ago, Elvis Costello did that thing that a lot of singers do and went on Sesame Street and sang a take on one of his songs, rewritten to be educational. I think the example everyone thinks of is Feist doing 1, 2, 3, 4 ("1, 2, 3, 4 Chickens just back from the shore...."). This is every bit that one's equal, Elvis doing one of his classics, but rewritten to be about the number 2. Maybe minus a point for including Elmo, but it works, and ever since Laura pointed me to this the other night, it's been stuck in my brain, my current earworm.
